Wild Adventure

As gorgeous as The Cliffs at Keowee Falls is inside the community, what’s right outside will absolutely blow you away. Ranked 9th in National Geographic’s top 50 best places on the planet, Jocassee Gorges provides a true wilderness experience. At its center, Lake Jocassee is fed by four mountain streams and ringed by several incredible waterfalls. The most well known waterfall, Laurel Fork Falls, is an 80-foot stunner with a great swimming hole at the base of its middle section—if you’re willing to climb up the rocks to it.

Jocassee Gorges borders Devil’s Fork State Park. Nearby, are the granite cliffs of Table Rock State Park, as well as Pinnacle Mountain, the tallest mountain inside the South Carolina border. These parks offer the most challenging hiking in the state.
